Chemical Hazard Planning @ RCP
Does your facility handle hazardous or extremely hazardous substances? RCP can assist your facility with the appropriate planning and preparations, including:
Emergency Response Plans
Hazardous chemicals can present unique problems during an emergency response. A good emergency response plan considers the characteristics of the chemicals involved, the company's operations and emergency response organization, and the surrounding sensitive areas and communities. It can also be used for drills and training, and to educate the public responders in the area. Lastly, an excellent response plan demonstrates in a very visible way the commitment of the company to safe operations and efficient emergency response.
Dispersion Modeling
Good dispersion modeling depends heavily upon the experience and knowledge of the person developing the assumptions used in the model. Frequently, inconsistent or even contradictory data are assumed in different parts of the model, leading to very misleading results. RCP can perform modeling for your facility and its unique emergency response scenarios, using state of the art programs, to ensure that you have the best modeling results available.
Risk Management Plans
Perhaps your facility was not originally covered by the EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP) requirements, but a process change has caused you to now be a covered facility. Or, your facility may have changed in ways that require resubmittal of your RMP. RCP can determine the rule's applicability to your operations, develop the necessary plans, and handle the electronic submittal to the EPA.
Public Responder Coordination
The EPA RMP rules require that a covered facility's emergency response plans be coordinated with the public responders in the area. RCP maintains contact with many Federal, State, and Local emergency response agencies and organizations, and can establish and conduct the necessary coordination between your facility and the appropriate response agencies.
